A man suspected of shooting two others at a local bar turned himself in a week after the incident, said Statesboro police Community Information Specialist Madison Warren.

Frank Junior Emeka, 22, of Conyers, turned himself in Saturday. He reportedly fled the scene May 5 after a shooting at Midtown Bar and Grill on Brannen Street and Fair Road.

The two men who were shot suffered "non-life-threatening injuries," Warren said.

Emeka left a firearm behind in a car after he fled, but police listed him as "armed and dangerous" and warned the public not to approach him if spotted, but to call authorities.

The incident took place just after midnight May 5, reported as a "fight with shots fired."

"Upon arrival, officers encountered a large, chaotic crowd in the parking lot of the business," Warren said. "Two victims with apparent gunshot wounds were located in the crowd and transported by EMS to East Georgia Regional Medical Center for treatment."

The victims were released from the hospital the following weekend, according to reports.

Through investigation, detectives of the Statesboro Police Department identified Emeka as the primary suspect regarding the shots fired.

Another man, Kelly Butler, 22, was arrested on the scene as well, she said. Butler, of Riverdale, is charged with obstruction for interference in police investigations.

Warrants were immediately issued for Emeka's arrest, and police publicly urged him to turn himself in.
