Sheriff seeks suspect in shots fired into home

Bulloch County sheriff’s investigators are looking for a man who fired shots into a Pretoria Rushing Road home on Monday.

In response to reports of shots fired and of a suspicious man carrying a rifle, deputies responded around 5 p.m. Monday to the 200 block of Pretoria Rushing Road, where members of one family told them that they had discovered “several bullet holes in their home,” said Bulloch County Sheriff Noel Brown in a statement released Tuesday.

No one was reported injured, but deputies “recovered several shell casings from the roadway that appeared to be from a 7.62 caliber rifle,” he said.

Witnesses interviewed described the shooter as a black male in his mid-20s wearing a dark hoodie, dark pants and red shoes, he said.

Anyone who knows anything about the suspect, including his identity, and who has not already been interviewed by investigators is asked to call the Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office at (912) 764-8888 and ask for the Criminal Investigations Division. The case remains under investigation.
