Georgia Southern to host award-winning filmmaker for Hispanic Heritage Month

Georgia Southern University will host Adriana Bosch, an award-winning series producer and filmmaker, as this year's Hispanic Heritage Month guest speaker.

The event is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16, at the Nessmith-Lane Conference Center, 847 Plant Drive.

Bosch has written, directed and produced political and social documentaries for more than 20 years. Her credits include "Latino Americans," a three-part, six-hour documentary series for PBS; "The Great Fever," a film on Cuban doctor Carlos Finlay; "Fidel Castro," a critically acclaimed two-hour television special; "Jimmy Carter," a three-hour documentary biography; and "Latin Music USA." She has also produced and edited several documentary films for "The American Experience," a series showcasing documentaries on American history.

Bosch, a native of Cuba, holds a Ph.D. in international affairs from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University.
