Bulloch County Commission to hold workshop, public hearing

Bulloch County commissioners will meet next Tuesday for a workshop session before a public hearing regarding the proposed fiscal 2015 county budget.

Bulloch County Manager Tom Couch spoke during the meeting Tuesday and told commissioners adoption of the budget was delayed "to ensure accuracy" regarding revenues and other numbers. He asked for a workshop to discuss budget issues to be held at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 8, before the 6:30 p.m. public hearing. Both will be held at the Bulloch County Annex on North Main Street.

The commission will not recommend a tax increase, Couch said. The budget is expected to be ready for adoption by July 15, and the proposed budget may be reviewed by the public at the July 8 hearing.

The 2015 budget is estimated to be around $65.3 million, with estimates for a general fund at around $31.6 million, Couch said.
