New drive-thru Parker's opens

Parker’s newest convenience store, at 1588 Brampton Ave., at the intersection with Veterans Memorial Parkway, opened Wednesday.

Parker’s new convenience store and gas station, at 1588 Brampton Ave., opened Wednesday. It is the chain’s 36th store in Georgia and South Carolina and the first with a drive-thru window.
“It’s a beautiful store, with a great Parker’s team there led by our seasoned store manager, Jessica Teegarden,” said Greg Parker, the president and CEO of The Parker Companies, based in Savannah. “We’re excited to be opening our fourth store in the city of Statesboro in the growing Bulloch County area.”
The store features Parker’s new drive-thru service, through which customers can buy most products. This is a new concept for Parker’s and is the first in the region for convenience stores, according to Brandon Hofmann, Parker’s chief marketing officer.
The almost $3 million store offers large aisles, a 24-valve fountain for soft drinks with Parker’s “Chewy Ice,” 12 fueling stations, landscaping and tile bathrooms.
Like all of the chain’s Statesboro stores, it also features Parker’s gourmet coffee bar with a selection of fresh milk and creamers, fresh-brewed sweet tea and cold lemonade.
For fuel customers, in addition to Parker’s standard line of regular, mid-grade and premium fuels, which include 10 percent ethanol, the new store also offers diesel fuel and non-ethanol fuel — a favorite of boat owners. The store’s parking lot design will provide marine customers who are towing boats easy in and out access, according to Amy Lane, Parker’s chief operating officer.
The store also offers domestic and imported beers kept at 28 degrees, e-cigarettes and traditional cigarettes.
An official ribbon-cutting, hosted by the Statesboro-Bulloch Chamber of Commerce, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 10.
