Georgia Southern football players Raja Andrews and Chris Covington enjoyed their ride with Eagle Nation. Andrews finished his career as the Eagles' all-time leading receiver and Covington was named Southern Conference Defensive Player of the Year for 2008.

This year's senior class has endured the turmoil of having three different head coaches, the end of the triple -option offensive era and the implementation of the Hatch Attack. While the team has struggled to re-establish its identity and its perennial presence in the FCS (Division I-AA) playoffs, Andrews and Covington say they have fond memories of playing football for Georgia Southern and its rabid fan base.
