A woman died Tuesday after a single-vehicle crash Monday during which her car overturned into a pond on Burkhalter Road near Eagle Tours, according to Georgia State Patrol reports.
Mattie Lou Williams Rivers, 55, Statesboro, was driving around a curve around 8:15 p.m. Monday when her vehicle left the roadway and overturned, landing in a pond, according to reports by Trooper First-Class C. Palmer.
Rivers died the next day due to injuries sustained in the accident, reports said.
