Screven County racked up 498 yards of rushing and rolled to a 28-12 win over Josey in Augusta on Friday night.
The homestanding Eagles scored on an 80-yard pass play to open the game, but a Michael Johnson touchdown run would tie the score at 6.
On the ensuing kickoff, Josey returned the ball 96 yards to regain te lead at 12-6. But quarterback Johnson would add another score to put Screven (5-2, 3-1) up for good at 13-12. Johnson finished with 106 yards on eight carries, scoring from 37 and 27 yards out.
Travis Coles led the Gamecocks with 180 yards on two touchdowns. Cameron Abraham added 64 yards.
The Gamecocks will travel to Metter next Friday.
