The lawsuit filed by a Bulloch County woman against actor and comedian Chris Rock claiming he is the father of her child will be withdrawn and filed in New York.

Kali Bowyer said Thursday that after consulting with her attorney, Brett Kimmel, they will refile the case in New York soon.

In her suit, Bowyer is seeking reasonable child support, medical coverage and attorneys fees from the former Saturday Night Live star. Rock's latest movie, "I Think I Love My Wife,' just completed a run at the Statesboro Cinema 12

Since the story broke, Bowyer said she's been inundated with calls from friends and family as well as national media outlets seeking comments from her.

"I've got people outside my house taking pictures. It's getting to be a little bit overwhelming," she said. "There was a truck that drove by with flashing camera lights."

She also said comments attributed to her by the New York Daily News and repeated in Thursday's Statesboro Herald did not accurately reflect the nature of her relationship with Rock.

"We were friends and we spent time together," she said.

The legal papers initially were submitted in March to the Bulloch County courthouse, but no date was set for a hearing as it wasn't determined if the court had jurisdiction.

Bowyer would not comment on any other aspects of the papers or the potential case.

Bowyer said the Bulloch County Clerk of Courts' office has been "helpful and supportive" since she filed the case.
