Statesboro Police detectives are investigating a report of missing money from the Statesboro Municipal Courts office on South College Street, said Capt. Scott Brunson.
Someone reported the missing funds July 9, and Det. Terry Briley opened an investigation into the  matter, he said. The money went missing over the past 30 days, he said.
Brunson said he could not divulge details because the case is active and ongoing. "We know there is money that can't be accounted for," he said.  He would not say whether detectives have suspects or whether the missing funds are due to theft, but said "We're not ruling anything out at this time."
Briley is continuing the investigation with Brunson and Det. Sgt. James Winskey assisting, he said.
