Statesboro Police officers were pursuing a truck that crashed on Johnson Street Saturday night after striking a woman, according to police incident reports.
Officers were pursuing the white 2005 Chevrolet Silverado in attempts to stop the driver for speeding, reports stated.
The crash occurred around 8:30 p.m., when the driver of the truck struck a woman who was walking down the street, then crashed into a warehouse, Statesboro Police Capt. Wendell Turner said Monday.
He said the victim suffered serious injury and was transported to a Savannah hospital in critical condition. Turner was not immediately available and did not return phone calls Tuesday seeking an update on the woman's condition.
Reports list Joseph Jawan Nunnally, 21, College Lane, and Randall Maye, 27, Fair Road Apartments, as being arrested in the case, each charged with marijuana possession and possession of cocaine with intent to distribute.
Detectives are currently still investigating the accident, and had not yet determined which man was driving, Turner said Monday.
One of the men fled t he scene after the crash, but officers apprehended both men shortly afterward, he said.
Further charges may be pending, he said. Statesboro Police Det. Sgt. James Winskey is leading the investigation.
