A Statesboro man stabbed his brother in the arm Saturday during an argument over who would watch TV and who would use the television to play video games.
Harrison Lafate Lockhart, 20, Mulberry Street, is behind bars at the Bulloch County Jail, held on probation violation charges as well as aggravated assault charges, according to jail records.
Statesboro Police Chief Stan York said Lockhart is also charged with possession of a knife during the commission of a crime.
Statesboro Police Officer Sebastian Colquitt responded Saturday evening to East Georgia Regional Medical Center where he spoke with the offender’s 22-year-old brother, who suffered from two lacerations to his left arm, York said.
Colquitt called Statesboro Police Det. Kenneth Holloway, who responded to the scene and processed it for evidence, he said.
Holloway said Monday the argument began as a verbal disagreement. The older brother was watching television, and Harrison Lockhart “wanted to play a video game,” he said.
The argument quickly became heated and the offender grabbed a knife and slashed his brother twice during the altercation.
The victim was treated for the lacerations at the hospital and Lockhart was located and taken into custody. He will remain at the Bulloch County Jail until a bond hearing is held and probation violation issues are resolved, according to jail records.
