Helmly
Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class Lewis J. Helmly, son of Dlorah J. Honeycutt of Bluffton, S.C., and Timothy Honeycutt of Claxton, recently completed the Navy Nuclear Power Training Unit course at Naval Nuclear Power Training Command in Goose Creek, S.C.
Helmly received instruction about nuclear theory, chemistry, physics, reactor operations, safety and security. Upon completion of the course, Helmly was designated a nuclear power operator.
Helmly is a 2005 graduate of Claxton High School in Claxton and joined the Navy in September 2007.

Parker

Navy Reserve Seaman Apprentice Joshua C. Parker, on of Ros Parker of Stillmore, Ga., recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.
During the eight-week program, Parker completed a variety of training, which included classroom study and practical instruction on naval customs, first aid, fire fighting, water safety and survival, and shipboard and aircraft safety. An emphasis was also placed on physical fitness.

Simmons
Navy Seaman Kadeen V. Simmons, son of Dorothy M. Simmons of Swainsboro and Larry G. Coleman of Swainsboro, recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Ill.
During the eight-week program, Simmons completed a variety of training which included classroom study and practical instruction on naval customs, first aid, fire fighting, water safety and survival, and shipboard and aircraft safety. An emphasis was also placed on physical fitness.
Simmons is a 2008 graduate of Swainsboro High School in Swainsboro.
