July 4, 2014 10:46 p.m.
A total of six people — including one found hiding in a suitcase inside a closet — were arrested Friday in two separate investigations into drug sale or possession, according to the Bulloch County Sheriff's Office.

In the first incident, investigators with the Statesboro-Bulloch Crime Suppression Team responded to a residence in the 8000 block of Stilson Leefield Road in Brooklet, in an attempt to locate Alan Kitchens, a parolee wanted for drug sales, Sheriff Lynn Anderson said in a news release issued Friday.

While searching the residence, officers found Kitchens hiding in a suitcase inside a bedroom closet, Anderson said.

Other drugs were subsequently found in the home, and several of Kitchens' family members were also arrested, Anderson said.

The following were arrested on the listed charges, and all have the residence as the address:

— Kitchens, 26, two counts of sale of methamphetamine and one count each of sale of heroin, sale of morphine, sale of oxycodone, sale of marijuana, obstruction, probation violation.

— Theresa Kitchens, 29, possession of methamphetamine, possession of hydrocodone, possession of dextroamphetamine, obstruction.

— Rudolph Kitchens, 55, obstruction.

— Alicia Kitchens, 47, obstruction.

All were transported to the Bulloch County Jail.

Later Friday, in the second incident, CST investigators found Arizona Zeb Connell, 27, of Westside Road, at a convenience store on Northside Drive East.

Connell had warrants for his arrest and was taken into custody without incident. He was also found to be in possession of heroin, Anderson said.

Connell's passenger, Addison Reddick, 23, of Reddick Road in Portal, was found to be in possession of crack cocaine and taken into custody as well, Anderson said.

Connell was charged with party to the crime of sale of oxycodone, party to the crime of sale of methamphetamine, possession of heroin and criminal attempt of sale of heroin.

Reddick was charged with possession of cocaine.

Both were transported to the Bulloch County Jail.

The Crime Suppression Team is a partnership between the Statesboro Police Department and Bulloch County Sheriff's Office.
