Sea Island Bank promotes Wiggins, Rabitsch and Dailey

Sea Island Bank has announced several staff promotions in Statesboro and Savannah, according to Executive Vice President Gary L. Johnson. In making the announcement, Johnson said Chad Wiggins and Ken Rabitsch were named senior vice presidents while Gay Dailey was appointed vice president.

Hospital Authority gives OTC grant

The Ogeechee Tech Foundation, Inc. was recently the recipient of a $10,000 grant from the Bulloch County Hospital Authority for use in supporting Health Science students at Ogeechee Technical College. The grant will allow the Foundation to assist 10 OTC students with scholarships. All 10 of the students receiving the Hospital Authority assistance are residents of Bulloch County.

After years of delay and anticipation, widening of the remaining portion of the Veteran's Memorial Parkway (Statesboro Bypass) is officially underway. The portion of the Bypass stretching from Highway 301 South to Highway 301 North encompasses some of the heaviest traveled roadway in this area functioning as a main thoroughfare and not necessarily as the bypass it was intended to be.
