A taste of life down on the farm

Held Saturday, Sept. 21, the Farm Heritage Day Festival at Hunter Cattle Company near Stilson played host to thousands who came to get a taste of a working farm.

A stompin' good time

Between 300 and 400 people visited Meinhardt Vineyards & Winery Saturday to enjoy its annual Grape Stomp Festival. Many bared their feet to pound grapes into juice the ancient way. Most sampled wine and cheese, and all were treated to live music from local classic-rock band PB&J.

Day Six welcomes new semester at GSU

For the second time in three years, rain postponed Georgia Southern University's Day One celebration last Monday night, turning the traditional start of the fall semester into Day Six. After students completed their first week of classes, the event was held at Paulson Stadium on Monday, Aug. 26.

Thousands braved intermittent rain last Saturday to attend the 24th annual Brooklet Peanut Festival. The event featured vendors, live music, games and food, along with the ever-popular parade and tractor races.
