50th Wedding Anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Billy Walker Sr. of Brooklet celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary on December 24, 2010. The couple was married on December 24, 1960, at the Brooklet First Baptist Church. They have three children, Charles Walker of Brooklet, Melinda Greene of Collins, Ga., and Mike Walker of Pennsylvania; and five grandchildren.

American Boychoir in concert

The world-renowned American Boychoir was in Statesboro Thursday night to play a concert at First United Methodist Church. The Boychoir is widely considered the top concert boys choir in the United States. It was founded in Columbus, Ohio, in 1937 and moved to Princeton, N.J., in 1950.
