Manzy Brown Jr.

A giving spirit - that best describes Manzy Brown. He is the one of the first to respond when there is a need in the Stilson and Brooklet areas, providing the physical labor needed to do the kinds of things people sometimes cannot do for themselves. Debra Sabia

Debra Sabia has spent the last 20 years demonstrating the importance of community service. Debra has been an advocate for low-income migrant workers and immigrant families. She is the founder and chair of the Commit-tee for Tolerance and Community Collaboration. Working through partnerships with other groups the committee provides medical care, English as a Second Language classes, education, citizenship training and youth mentorship. Ruth Ann Rogers

When Ruth Ann Rogers retired from her full-time employment at Georgia Southern four years ago, she quickly transitioned into full-time service to others. Combin-ing more formal service to community organizations with informal service to others, When Ruth Ann retired, she knew she wanted to do volunteer service with the American Red Cross in remembrance of her mother-in-law who spent 50 years as a Red Cross volunteer. Stewart Moody

Stewart Moody has served for a decade as Chaplain of the Georgia Southern Eagles football team, speaking to the team and coaches each week as a source of inspiration and encouragement. Stewart is the college pastor at First Baptist Church and, in that role, spends a great deal of time on the Georgia Southern campus. Madison Merrifield

Our youngest recipient is 16-year old Madison Merrifield, a senior at Statesboro High School. Madison has already accomplished more, touched more lives and volunteered more of her time than most of us do in a lifetime. When she was 8 years old, she was diagnosed with Ewings Sarcoma, a rare childhood cancer. She has battled this cancer three times and her life is an example of courage and grace through trials. Jan Martin

Lori Grice

Barbara Fox

Lisa and Ronald Campbell
