Decorating your home is a process. This process includes collecting mementos, furniture, and items given to you from other family members. Things we have in our homes tell a story about our families. Things passed between family members are special and tell about what has been important in our personal history. Using these special things, either furniture or accessories in an attractive way, sometimes requires us to rethink use and location of furniture.

Bulloch History

During the summer and fall of 1943, German and Italian prisoners of were brought in to help harvest the bumper crops in Bulloch County. These prisoners must have volunteered for this duty, as any forced labor would have violated the terms of the their surrender. Several groups of these laborers, between the ages of 18 and 38 years of age, were being used in various locations throughout Bulloch County under the supervision of the military authorities.
