CLAXTON - The Savannah Country Day Hornets used strong outside shooting by Patrick Blackburn and Zach Samuels to outscore the Claxton Tigers (3-13, 2-4 Region 3-A) and hang on to second place in the region standings with a 65-34 win on the road Saturday night.
Few Statesboro fans saw this one coming.
PORTAL - Things were looking worrisome for the Portal Panthers after the 2006-07 season. Leading scorer Fred Williams played his last season and the girls finished with only three wins. The Panthers were in a bind.
