Gators pleased with first scrimmage

Bulloch Academy fans got their first look at the Gators' football team Thursday night at Gator Alley where BA took on Memorial Day School in a controlled scrimmage in unseasonably cool conditions.

No score, nor time, was kept in the contest. Each team got ten plays on offense whether or not a score or turnover occurred.

CHICAGO, Ill. - Former Georgia Southern University standout Greg Dowling made history at a historic ball park. Dowling and the Class A Kane County Cougars took on Midwest League rival Peoria Chiefs on July 29 at Wrigley Field in Chicago. A league record crowd of 32,103 packed into the Chicago Cubs' home field for the first minor league baseball game played there.

Sprint South track meet a success

BROOKLET - The 2008 Sprint South Invitational was deemed a success by coordinator Samose Mays Saturday, as a strong number of athletes competed in track and field events on the campus of Southeast Bulloch High School.

Mays, coach of the Sprint South AAU track team, was more than pleased with the event. Competitors ages seven to 18 showed their stuff for over two hours in running and field events.
