Vick signs with Eagles

Michael Vick is back in the NFL, landing a job with the Philadelphia Eagles.Vick's agent, Joel Segal, confirmed Thursday that the sides had a deal.Vick has not played in the NFL since 2006. The former Atlanta Falcons star was convicted in August 2007 of conspiracy and running a dogfighting operation, and was sentenced to 23 months in federal prison. He also was suspended indefinitely by the NFL.NFL commissioner Roger Goodell conditionally lifted Vick's suspension on July 27, allowing him to sign with a team.

Hanson strikes out 9, Braves win again

ATLANTA - Rookie Tommy Hanson struck out nine in 6 2-3 innings and the surging Atlanta Braves won again, routing the Nationals 8-1 to snap Washington's eight-game winning streak Tuesday night.

The Braves have won four straight, six of seven and 16 of 25 since the All-Star break, a stretch that has made them a factor in the NL playoff race. Atlanta started the sweltering night 4½ games behind NL East-leading Philadelphia, which visits Turner Field this weekend.
