Eisenhart becomes an Eagle

Thomas Eisenhart, a senior at Statesboro High, signed a letter-of-intent to play soccer for head coach Kevin Kennedy and Georgia Southern University on Thursday. Eisenhart said his choice to play for GSU was two-fold.

Morgan Jones, a senior at Southeast Bulloch, signed a national letter of intent with Presbyterian College to play women's soccer Tuesday. Presbyterian, which just joined the Big South Conference, will play Division I soccer for the first time this year.

Delvin Diggs, a senior at Claxton High School's signed a national letter of intent to attend the Naval Academy and play football for former Georgia Southern head coach Paul Johnson on Wednesday. Diggs, a senior, rushed for 1582 yards on 273 carries this past season for the Tigers.

Taylor Collins scored a game-high 11 points and Rachel Gilbert added eight to lead the Bulloch Academy girls' team to a 34-20 win at Citizens Christian Academy Tuesday. The BA girls (9-2) begin GISA Region 2-AA tournament play Thursday at home.

Local Roundup: Claxton girls top ECI

The Claxton Lady Tigers (9-13, 4-6) traveled to Emanual County Institute Friday evening and defeated the Lady Bulldogs - also 4-6 in region 3-A - 47-29. Two girls posted double-doubles for Claxton - Ashley Kennedy had 17 points and 11 rebounds and Endya Jones added 11 and 10. Claxton hosts Jenkins County at 6 p.m. tonight.
