Cavs beat Jackets

BROOKLET - The Calvary Day Cavaliers' soccer team (2-5-1, 1-2) traveled to Southeast Bulloch to take on the Yellow Jackets (2-1, 1-1), and SEB couldn't hang on as the Cavaliers took home a 3-1 victory in a physical battle Thursday night.

Blue Devils overachieve

The Statesboro Blue Devils ended their season with a 71-50 loss to Griffin Thursday night in the second round of the GHSA Class AAAA state tournament. Their performance was not very impressive that night, but considering what type of team head coach Lee Hill had this year, an 18-12 finish and a run to the second round of the state tourney was more than he could have hoped for.

MACON - Too much speed, too much size and too much talent - the Griffin Bears (17-10) jumped out early on Statesboro and never looked back, advancing to the Elite 8 of the GHSA Class AAAA tournament Thursday night at Mercer University with a 71-50.
