Murray, Glover earn scholarships

Claxton's Polly Murray, left, and Labron Glover pose after signing letters of intent to play college basketball Thursday afternoon. Murray will attend Chattanooga State University and Glover will play for Thomas University. McDade, Kirkland named all-stars

Statesboro High School seniors Erica McDade, left, and Sierra Kirkland helped lead the CSRA's Georgia basketball team to a 70-61 victory over South Carolina at the 13th Annual CSRA All-Star Classic at Richmond Academy High School in Augusta on April 21. Each squad was comprised of the region's best senior girls players. A third SHS senior, Alisia Jenkins, was selected but did not participate because of an SHS track meet. McDade and Kirkland have played together since their days at the Bulloch County Recreation Department. Kirkland signed with Georgia Southern. McDade is deciding between two South Carolina colleges.

Yellow Jackets fall to No. 1 Blessed Trinity

ROSWELL - No. 1 proved too skilled, too good and too much for the Southeast Bulloch High School boys soccer team. Top-ranked Blessed Trinity rolled out to a 5-0 halftime lead and dominated the Yellow Jackets, 8-0, in the second round of the Class AA state playoffs Tuesday.
