Cullowhee, NC. - On a day when Victor Roache hit home run number 16, Western Carolina (14-17-1, 5-11) took the series opener from Georgia Southern (20-15, 9-4) 12-3 on Friday, April 15th. Roache moved to within one of the Division I leader, Jake Lowery (James Madison), for the moment. GSU and WCU will continue the series today at 3 p.m. with the finale slated for 2 p.m. on Sunday.

Eagles split DH with Marshall

BECKLEY, W.Va. – Georgia Southern (19-13) and Marshall (11-18) got underway and the Eagles got off to a quick 1-0 lead on Friday night, but 39 hours would pass before the two teams played again. Game one resumed on Sunday with Georgia Southern taking the 9-2 game one win. The Eagles were unable to pull off the doubleheader sweep after the Thundering Herd held off a ninth-inning Georgia Southern rally to win game two 5-3. Game three of the series was canceled.

A few standouts at Paulson

On Saturday, the Georgia Southern Eagles had their final scrimmage before next Friday's Blue and White game, and while the quarterbacks wore red jerseys and avoided contact (mostly) and most of the offensive plays were run from the shotgun, there were certainly some folks that stood out on offense.
