HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – The Southern Conference announced Thursday the future sites for league championships with the 2011 SoCon softball tournament awarded to Georgia Southern. The conference also formally announced that all championships will be restored to full participation levels. The league's women's soccer, men's soccer, volleyball, men's tennis and women's tennis tournaments will all include eight teams. The 2011 Southern Conference softball championship will include all nine league teams.

Eagle Golf caps 2010 season

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – The Georgia Southern University golf team capped its 2009-2010 season with its 19th overall NCAA Championship appearance finishing 30th after Thursday's final round of stroke play. The Eagles, who had to finish their final holes of the second round this morning after darkness ended Wednesday's play, will not advance to match play.

ASU, Samford win SoCon Cup

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. Appalachian State University's men and Samford University's women have claimed the Southern Conference all-sports championships for the 2009-10 athletic season, it was announced on Tuesday. Appalachian State earned the league's Commissioner's Cup for excellence in men's athletics while Samford was awarded the Germann Cup for the best overall women's athletics program.
