Georgia Southern will honor former head baseball coach Jack Stallings during the game against Furman on Saturday. Admission for the game will be $1 in honor of Stallings' retired number #1 uniform he wore in his 24 years as the skipper for the Eagles.

Doubles drive Eagles to win

DeleteMatt Murray threw five shutout innings in relief to earn the win in Georgia Southern's (7-3) 4-3 series-opening victory over St. John's (3-4) Friday night at J. I. Clements Stadium. Back-to-back doubles in the sixth inning broke open a 3-3 tie late in the game. Both bullpens factored into the decision, and only one run was allowed by either pen.

UNF rolls to 11-3 win over Eagles

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Georgia Southern Baseball team (6-3) fell in their first road game of the 2011 season at North Florida (5-3) 11-3. The Ospreys banged out 14 hits and forced three Eagle errors to score their 11 runs. Two bright spots for GSU were Eric Phillips' perfect day at the plate and Tom Richardson's two RBIs.
