Hennon wins 500th game, Eagles take series

CHARLESTON, S.C. - Georgia Southern (15-10, 6-3) jumped out to an early 3-1 after the third inning and added four insurance runs in the eighth inning to earn its first road series win against the College of Charleston (16-9, 3-3) since the 2001 season. The win also marked the 500th career victory for Head Baseball Coach Rodney Hennon. Hennon earned 419 of those wins at GSU and picked up the first 81 at his alma mater, Western Carolina.

Auburn takes second-straight Schenkel, Eagles place 10th

Trailing Florida by five strokes going into the final three holes of the final round, Auburn forced a playoff and then won the team title on the first hole to repeat as team champions at the 32nd Schenkel Invitational. The 32nd annual tournament, contested at the par-72, 6,962-yard Forest Heights Country Club, witnessed its first team playoff since 1999 when Clemson defeated Georgia. Ninth-ranked Auburn becomes the first repeat champion at the Schenkel since Georgia, which won the team titles in 2000 and 2001.

Roache hits grand slam, Eagles win

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Georgia Southern Baseball team (12-9, 4-2) escaped Birmingham with a 9-2 win over Samford (15-7, 5-1) at Joe Lee Griffin Field on Sunday, March 20th. The Eagles handed the Bulldogs their first conference loss and put an end to their streak of four-straight losses with Sunday's win.
