Eagles tied for first after Round 1

FLORENCE, S.C – Playing in his first Southern Conference Championship, junior Lewis Gruber looked quite at home, firing a 4-under 68 to finish in a first-place tie in the individual standings after day one. Gruber's performance, coupled with three Eagles playing inside the top-25 individual standings, guided Georgia Southern to a three-way tie for first place after the first round of the 75th SoCon Golf Championship.

W. Carolina defeats Eagles

Cullowhee, NC. - On a day when Victor Roache hit home run number 16, Western Carolina (14-17-1, 5-11) took the series opener from Georgia Southern (20-15, 9-4) 12-3 on Friday, April 15th. Roache moved to within one of the Division I leader, Jake Lowery (James Madison), for the moment. GSU and WCU will continue the series today at 3 p.m. with the finale slated for 2 p.m. on Sunday.

Eagles' non-conference football games set for 2015 season

Georgia Southern has obligations for four non-conference football games for the 2015 season with games at Georgia and West Virginia and home contests vs. The Citadel and Western Michigan, Director of Athletics Tom Kleinlein announced today. Kleinlein also scheduled Kent State for a home-and-home series for 2018 and 2019 in the construction of the Eagles' future non-conference schedules.
