A Bulloch County Sheriff's deputy on his way home Monday ended up working a longer shift than expected when a speeder he tried to stop fled.
Three men robbed a Grover Lakes area convenience store Tuesday night and Bulloch County Sheriff Lynn Anderson hopes citizens step forward with information that will end in the suspects' arrest.
A world of fast food and slowed activity has led the nation to become obese - and Bulloch County hasn't been spared from the trend. But the Georgia Southern University College of Health and Human Sciences hopes to team with the Bulloch County Health Department - and other community leaders - to combat the problem through education.
Something killed a cow and injured another Saturday night near Olive Branch Road in Bryan County, and Bryan County Animal Control Officer Valerie Barnard said her coworker - and a Department of Natural Resources ranger who went along with him - said the attack was from "a big cat."

Statesboro Regional Library's Reading Is FUNdamental program turns 30 this year. RIF has brought books, reading and fun together for the children of Statesboro and Bulloch County since 1979.
At Statesboro High School, many students study vocational trades. In fact, senior Stephen Weaver has just completed his regional and state competitions of the SkillsUSA organization, taking top honors at each level.

In some classrooms in the Bulloch County public schools, there is a feeling of permanence. That was, and is, particularly true in the case of the "Callaway" classrooms. Starr Callaway Anderson grew up watching her mother Jo Callaway teach at the old Statesboro High School for some 30 years.

The Statesboro City Council decided Tuesday to move forward with a plan to install a wireless network in partnership with Clearwire communications.
In a cost cutting move, the city of Statesboro will be closing the transfer station, or landfill, located on North Main, to the public on Saturdays.
