Arnold Ray Akins recovering from heart attack
A Statesboro man indicted in October on federal bank fraud charges entered a guilty plea Monday, U.S. Attorney Edmund A. Booth Jr. said Wednesday.
A woman chased down her husband Saturday, struck his vehicle with hers, got into a heated argument with him and a female passenger in his car and ended up in jail when someone called 911 to alert authorities about the altercation, said Bulloch County Sheriff's Chief Investigator Capt. Todd Hutchens.

A bridge on Pulaski Highway will be closed today for repairs after an 18-wheeler flipped over and destroyed part of the bridge's railings. Georgia State Patrol Trooper First-Class Blake Hendrix said driver Jeffrey Moore, 30, Santee, SC was driving east Tuesday afternoon around 2:45 p.m. , approaching the bridge near Brannen Lake Road, when he ran off the road and struck the bridge embankment. The tractor-trailer rig, carrying a load of small pieces of wood, overturned, scattering wood and vehicle parts across the roadway.
