Christmas wish for the Red Cross: More blood

As people get busy during the holiday season, the donation of blood slows down. Tight schedules and winter time illness affects blood donations, which significantly reduces emergency blood supplies, said Nancy Martin, senior account manager for the Bulloch County Chapter of the American Red Cross.

Health dept. to give H1N1 shots

The Bulloch County Health Department will hold a special H1N1 flu shot clinic on Monday, Dec. 7, from 3 until 7 p.m. The shots are free to everyone. The CDC recommends that certain groups of the population receive the H1N1 flu shot. These target groups include:
