Upper Lotts Creek Primitive Baptist Church was a proud and humble place Saturday as the church welcomed dozens of visitors and local church members to the 180th anniversary celebration of the church and the unveiling of a marker denoting both the cemetery and the church's placement in The National Register of Historic Places.

The annual $1 dollar bag sale is underway at Worn Threads, which is located in the Bulloch County Outreach Center on Denmark Street in Statesboro. Worn Threads does the $1 sale twice a year to move as much clothing as possible to make room for newer clothes. Worn Threads provides clothing to local victims of fires or other disasters and gives most of its proceeds away from sale of clothes during the year. Upper Lotts Creek rejoices in 180 years

The Georgia Department of Natural Resources - Historic Preservation Division reports that on Dec. 4, 2008 both the cemetery and Upper Lotts Creek Primitive Baptist Church in Bulloch County were placed in the National Register of Historic Places.
