Bulloch sheriff plans to run for re-election

Bulloch County Sheriff Lynn Anderson has had a great deal on his plate during his second term in office. He said Thursday he looks forward to a third term, if elected, and plans to qualify next week to run. Anderson is a Republican.

Brooklet man wins calling competition

What started as an effort to improve his performance in turkey hunting has led Brooklet's Kerry Terrell to the big time. After 16 years of competing in turkey calling contests, Terrell placed first in the 2008 Wild Turkey Bourbon/National Wild Turkey Federation Grand National Calling Championships, Rare Breed Champion of Champions competition in Atlanta.

Woman pushes cart from Savannah to Atlanta to raise child abuse awareness

She appeared outside of Brooklet Monday, pushing a wooden cart resembling a covered wagon, decorated with American flags. As each mile passed underneath her feet, Rachel Milano placed a flag in the ground along U.S. 80, hoping her actions would call attention to the reason she is pushing the half-ton wagon from Savanna to Atlanta.
