Burglary victim finds burglars, stolen items

A witness to a burglary Monday at Park Place called police to report the incident, and two hours later, the victim called police to tell them he located the stolen items - as well as several juveniles who had the loot in their possession.

Man arrested in homicide case

Statesboro police announced Tuesday that a 17-year-old man was arrested and charged in the Dec. 8 strangulation murder of an Ogeechee Technical College student at Campus Crossings apartments in Statesboro.

Daryl Anthony Priestley, who lived at The Avenue at Southern apartments, is from McDonough, which also was the hometown of victim Brandie Danielle Davis. Priestley was taken into custody in McDonough and is charged with felony murder, said Statesboro Police Chief Stan York.

Sue Hodges dies Monday at age 65

Friends of Sue Stabler Hodges agree that she was a "gracious, giving person," and recalled fond memories of Hodges Monday. Hodges, 65, passed away Monday after an extended illness at Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro.
