Camp Lawton display opens Sunday

Following the announcement in August that an archaeological team from Georgia Southern University had discovered the site of the Camp Lawton Civil War prison site at Magnolia Springs Park in Millen, five glass cases holding a few of the artifacts were unveiled to the public.

Two arrested in Core Credit armed robbery

Statesboro Police detectives arrested two men Monday after a two-week-long investigation regarding the Sept. 9 armed robbery of Core Credit Union's Market District office, said Statesboro Public Safety Director Wendell Turner.

Police investigating robbery

Statesboro Police are investigating a home invasion armed robbery that took place tonight around 6 p.m. at Stadium Walk Apartments. Details are limited as the incident remains under investigation, but Capt. Thomas Williams said further information will be available Wednesday morning. Check back here for more details tomorrow.
