Man arrested for stabbing wife

Officers responding to a call at 4 a.m. Sunday found a woman crawling on the ground near Eagle Walk Apartments on Knight Drive, bleeding from stab wounds. Investigation led to the arrest of her husband, who was intoxicated when officers located him, police said.

Parvo causes shelter depopulation

With a constant stream of complaints coming in about stray and unwanted animals, now isn't the best time for the Statesboro-Bulloch County Animal Shelter to be closed. However, another outbreak of the canine parvovirus caused shelter officials to call for a depopulation and close the shelter to incoming dogs and puppies until Thursday.

City report: More than 75 alcohol allegations went unheard by Statesboro City Council

More than 75 alleged violations of Statesboro's Alcoholic Beverages Ordinance, from July 2011 through August 2013, never went before City Council for hearings on the businesses' alcohol licenses. Overlapping that total, 42 alcohol-related citations police issued against individuals in July 2011 were dropped by City Hall officials and never tried in Municipal Court.
