Tuskegee Airmen visit GSU

The government said they could not fly in the United States military. Government studies depicted them as inferior, unintelligent, sub-human. But the Tuskegee Airmen, the United State's first squadron of African-American pilots, proved them wrong. Three Tuskeegee Airmen and the widow of a late Airman spoke Tuesday at the Georgia Southern University Information and Technology Building's auditorium. The presentation, sponsored by the Georgia Southern University's Golden Key Honor Society, was free and open to the public.

Monday on "Mornings unPHILtered," host Phil Boyum's guest was dean of the College of Business Administration (COBA) at Georgia Southern, Dr. Ron Shiffler. Shiffler spoke about the college's online program in Information Technology. The Web-BSIT program allows one to get a Bachelor of Science degree in Informational Technology.

Mornings unPHILtered - Meet the arts center’s Artist in Residence

Friday on "Mornings unPHILtered," host Phil Boyum's first guest was the Averitt Center for the Arts Artist in Residence Lindsay Jenkins. Jenkins offers art classes for youth and adults every Thursday at the Averitt. The youth classes run from 4 – 5:15 p.m. and the adult classes run from 5:30 - 6:45 p.m., and cost $20 each. Jenkins also offers private lessons for those who prefer personal instruction.
