Statesboro man arrested on aggravated assault and shoplifting charges

As if shoplifting charges weren't enough, police said a Statesboro man fled store employees and ran through the local mall brandishing a knife Monday evening, causing police to add charges of aggravated assault to his arrest record.

Benbow verdict: guilty on all counts

Bulloch County Superior Court Judge John R. Turner sentenced Marcus Maurice Benbow, 41, Waycross, to five life sentences plus 130 years Friday for the murder of one man, the shooting of two other victims and related charges after a jury found Benbow guilty on all counts.
