Southeast Bulloch High School debate team members enjoyed a successful year and an even better February as they qualified for the National Forensic League's National Championships. The forensics (the official term for debate) tournament is set for June 15-20 in Las Vegas.

Investigator: Man arrested after inappropriately touching mentally challenged woman

Practice makes perfect - SEB student scores 800 on SAT math, twice

Southeast Bulloch High School senior David Casey Woodrum loves math. He also likes a challenge. So, after woodrum scored a perfect 800 on the math section of the SAT using a calculator during his junior year, he took the test again in his senior year without using a calculator.

'Plaza Suite' at Emma Kelly Theater Friday through Sunday

The Averitt STARS, Statesboro's only non-profit community theater, will perform Neil Simon's "Plaza Suite" Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and on Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets for the show are $10 for adults and $8 for youth under the age of 12.

New Black Box Theatre opens this weekend

As Georgia Southern University prepares to unveil the new Center for Art and Theatre at three events this weekend, bolts were tightened Thursday afternoon on the sculpture to permanently adorn the front of the new building. Funded by former Governor Carl Sanders to celebrate the wedding anniversary to his wife, Betty Foy Sanders, the work will stand as a monument to Mrs. Sanders' commitment to the fine arts in southeastern Georgia.
