Parents, spouses and children were poised to scream for their favorite Ogeechee Technical College graduate, as students lined up for OTC's spring commencement. Held at Georgia Southern University's Hanner Fieldhouse, more than 250 students donned black gowns and tasseled caps to celebrate the completion of their certificate of degree.

Imagine 37 years spent working in education. That's how many years Brooklet Elementary School Principal Priscilla Clifton has dedicated to helping young people, and now she's retiring.
Southeast Bulloch High School unveiled a new Freedom Shrine Monday in the common area of the school. Donated by the Exchange Club of Statesboro, the Freedom Shrine is a permanent installation of historical American documents emphasizing freedom and liberty.

Everyone thinks of drums when it comes to percussion. Well, for those who attended the first-ever "Day of Percussion" at Southeast Bulloch High School, they heard a lot more than drums. Cymbals, chimes, bells, marimbas, xylophones, triangles, wood blocks and tambourines were all on display.

Early Sunday morning, a stretch of the southern part of Bulloch County running parallel to Highway 46 near Nevils-Denmark Road got quite a jolt. The swath of severe weather that cut across Georgia left damaged homes in the Nevils area and even sent a school bus partly up a tree. Residents were still stunned by the damage Monday.
National Weather Service agents are still working to determine whether a storm that ripped apart a mobile home in the Nevils area, as well as caused damage elsewhere in the county, was in fact a tornado.
Otters are not the first wildlife you think about living in Bulloch County, but one resident has her hands full of them.
Thousands gathered Saturday at Paulson Stadium to celebrate and honor the Spring 2008 graduating class of Georgia Southern University. With more than 20,000 watching the 2,393 graduates, smiles, hugs and many tears of joy were easily seen in all directions.
The Battle of Midway and World War II may seem a long way from Bulloch County, but for families who sent a loved one into military service, the past remains an ever present memory.

Over 100 participated in the 2014 Zombie Run 5K and Fun Run on Saturday, October 25 to help raise funds for local health organizations, including the Bulloch Partnership for Health, the Georgia Southern University Rural Health Research Institute, the Mercer University Center for Rural Health and Health Disparities, and the Georgia Southern University Wellness Program.
The Georgia Southern football team took the practice fields at Beautiful Eagle Creek Thursday to kick off their first fall camp after officially joining the Sun Belt Conference.
Under the direction of Statesboro Youth Ballet director Jurijs Safonovs, dance students completed two weeks of rigorous study at the Averitt Center for the Arts Summer Ballet Intensive Friday.
