Music festival celebrates Statesboro’s heritage

It seems only natural for a city that claims Blind Willie McTell's blues standard "Statesboro Blues" as its own unofficial theme song - and that takes even more pride in the rendition of the same song made famous by The Allman Brothers - to find a way to honor its musical heritage and celebrate what's to come.

Person flown to Savannah after collision

A person was airlifted to Savannah Wednesday after a collision on Alford Road. Georgia State Patrol reports were incomplete Thursday, but a partial report filed by GSP Trooper First-Class Carl Hutchinson stated two drivers involved were Christopher Troy Howe and Ashley Diane James. Ages and addresses were unavailable, and incomplete reports did not list which driver was airlifted.
