Georgia Southern University raises $1.3 million during 2010 ‘A Day for Southern’

Georgia Southern University's 'A Day for Southern' campaign, a one-day fund-raising effort involving the Statesboro and Bulloch County communities, has raised $1,338,650 in 2010. The amount is the second largest total raised in the campaign's 37-year history.

Statesboro Police are still seeking a woman they say was involved in an armed robbery last week. Tymesha Sharneice "Savage Doll" Hamilton, 24, Leefield Station Road in Brooklet, is considered "armed and dangerous," said Statesboro Police Capt. Scott P. Brunson.

Teen to be tried as an adult in molestation case

A 16-year-old boy charged with molesting a 5-year-old girl was charged and will be tried as an adult, according to Georgia law. An 11-year-old boy also charged in the incident will be tried as a juvenile, said Statesboro Police Capt. Scott P. Brunson.
