Collins named new Bulloch Co. Commission clerk

Marcia Collins was named as the new Bulloch County Commission clerk Tuesday during the regular Bulloch County Commissioners meeting. Collins will replace Evelyn Wilson, who will retire as of Dec. 31.

Standing for Georgia's Repeal of Every Ad valorem Tax, the speaker's plan calls for the elimination of all property taxes in favor of an expansion of the sales tax - without an increase in the sales tax rate.

Kitchens are inspected at least every four months and are required to post their score sheets in public. The score and selected comments from health inspectors are included in each report. County to form own fire department

Bulloch County Commissioners voted Tuesday to end an agreement between the county and the City of Statesboro regarding fire services. The Statesboro Fire Department currently serves county residents living within a five-mile radius of the city limits, and Bulloch County currently funds 25 percent of the city fire department budget.
