County's proposed budget doesn't include property tax increase

BOE looks at 1/2-mill hike

Bulloch County Board of Education members offered verbal support last week for a proposed half-mill increase in the school system's tax rate. If approved, the school board portion of the millage rate would rise from 9.45 to 9.95 mills, which equates to about a $20 tax increase per $100,000 of taxable property.

With the latest focus on the problem of childhood obesity, public school food service workers from around the state came to Georgia Southern for an intensive week of cooking classes with an emphasis on preparing less-fattening, more nutritious meals for students. Preparing for Pinocchio

The Missoula Children's Theatre is hosting a workshop on musical theater at Georgia Southern. The campers began rehearsals on Monday, learning lines and songs for the production.
