Georgia Southern University's Theatre & Performance Program will present "A Man For All Seasons," beginning tonight and running through April 25 in the Black Box Theatre located in the new Center for Art & Theatre.
The stars were shining Thursday night as the 2009 Statesboro Film Festival and Awards Show entertained about 180 people at the Averitt Center for the Arts Emma Kelley Theater.
Two men arrested early Tuesday morning were released, with charges dropped, because of lack of evidence they were involved in a recent armed robbery near the Georgia Southern University campus, said Statesboro Police Det. Sgt. James Winskey.

The Parris Island Marine Band will perform a free concert at the Emma Kelly Theater at 2 p.m. Saturday as a complement to the Celebration South Music Festival.

Local, state and federal agents rounded up 67 suspects Tuesday morning during "Operation Statesboro Blues." The multi-agency effort headed up by the Statesboro Police Department and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) targeted illegal drug and gun activity.
