Two women were found dead Wednesday morning after someone saw smoke and reported a house fire at a Harden Road residence. After Statesboro firefighters arrived at the scene around 9:45 a.m. and extinguished the flames, they discovered a woman's body and called police, said Statesboro Police Chief Stan York.
Screven County Sheriff Mike Kile is seeking help from the public in identifying and locating a suspect he said is involved in "at least two" residential burglaries last month in Screven County.
Masked gunmen robbed a Nevils-area convenience store Monday night before escaping in a "dark colored car," said Bulloch County Sheriff Lynn Anderson.
A Bulloch County native who went on to a distinguished judicial, political and civic career will be the guest speaker for Georgia Southern University's Spring Commencement.

A sharp-eyed Bulloch County Sheriff's deputy questioned a man acting suspiciously and linked him to a recent auto theft, said Bulloch County Sheriff Lynn Anderson.
At Southeast Bulloch High School, there are many organizations and associations students may belong to, including Health Occupation Students of America (HOSA), the Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA), and the National FFA (formerly Future Farmers of America).
