Law enforcement officers found an armed robbery suspect hiding in a closet Tuesday at a Bartlett Drive home and charged him with robbing a Wal-Mart clerk at gunpoint.
Statesboro City Council voted at its last meeting to raise non-consensual towing rates from $85 to $110, citing concerns from towing companies over the drastically rising price of fuel.
Rainfall across Bulloch County Wednesday helped the row crops and hay planted by area farmers, but more rain is needed in the coming weeks, said Bulloch County Extension Agent Wes Harris.
The trial of three suspects in a double murder that occurred over two and a half years ago is tentatively set for Aug. 25, said a spokesman for Bulloch County Superior Court Judge John R. Turner's office.

The Georgia Southern football team took the practice fields at Beautiful Eagle Creek Thursday to kick off their first fall camp after officially joining the Sun Belt Conference.
Under the direction of Statesboro Youth Ballet director Jurijs Safonovs, dance students completed two weeks of rigorous study at the Averitt Center for the Arts Summer Ballet Intensive Friday.
