Mobile dental care unit in Statesboro today, tomorrow

Help A Child Smile will visit the Bulloch County Division of Family and Children Services offices today and Thursday starting at 9 a.m. The mobile dental care unit will be parked at the offices on Altman Street, behind the Bulloch County Health Department.

Tornado victims get unexpected help with cleanup

Bulloch's Southern Thunder Cruisers help a friend

The Southern Thunder Cruiser, In Country Vets of Effingham County motorcycle clubs gathered with other motorcycle clubs and enthusiasts at the Kiwanis Ogeechee Fairgrounds Saturday for a Poker Run to benefit Bennie Rushing. The event, sponsored by the Cruisers, raised more than $5,000 to benefit Rushing, a retired Bulloch County Sheriff's deputy who was recently diagnosed with terminal cancer.

Perdue halts state gas tax increase

ATLANTA - Gov. Sonny Perdue on Monday halted what would have been a 2.9 cent per gallon jump in the state gasoline tax, saying the state should not be taking advantage of a tax windfall driven by spiking prices at the pump.
