Mill Creek Elementary School was awash in red, white and blue as about 50 veterans showed up to watch the students and faculty march in its annual Veterans Day parade. Principal Trey Robertson said they took about a week and half to prepare all the events and music for the parade.
An undergraduate student at Georgia Southern University residing off-campus was diagnosed with suspected bacterial meningitis. He was treated with prophylactic medication and immediately transported to the East Georgia Regional Medical Center for additional testing and treatment. Initial testing indicates the student does have bacterial meningitis and additional testing is being conducted to confirm the diagnosis.
One person cashed two fraudulent checks for more than $9,000 total, and another person tried to cash one for more than $1,900, Statesboro police said.
